ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW PROCESS 

The Declaration of Covenants requires prior written approval for many exterior improvements to an owner’s home and  lot. Therefore, do not commit labor or materials until you have received written approval from the HOA. 

Please be sure to check the BLANKET APPROVALS (no HOA approval needed) on page 12/13 in the Guidelines provided below. COMMON IMPROVEMENTS  are found on page 14/15.

 Please  submit the REQUEST FORM ON page 17 of guidelines including all project details to the HOA.

Allow roughly 2 weeks for a decision from the HOA Board and a detailed submission will greatly speed up the process (measurements, renderings, survey, etc). 

Also please refer to Durham County/City  for any Restrictions or Permits needed  that are outside the HOA scope of approval but may be required at a municpal level for your proposed project.
